Images
1. We require at least 2 photos per product to provide a photo-real asset:
2. Files must be no larger than 10MB per angle
3. Add up to 6 photos per product at different angles (including top and bottom)
4. Accepts JPG or PNG files
5. Files must be no larger than 10MB
6. Ensure lighting is bright (not dark or grainy)
7. Ideally include an all white background or limited background
8. No overlapping products
9. If there are intricate details on your product, ensure you upload close up images of these and note these in the final section.
3D Files
Accepted file formats:
1. GLTF / GLB, FBX, Maya, OBJ
2. Files must be less than 10MB
3. Aim to reduce your polygon count. Large amounts of polygons will strain your AR experience
< 200,000 polygons are ideal
< 500,000 polygons are acceptable
4. Minimize your part count. Extensive part counts in your 3D model can slow down the AR experience
5. Simplified hierarchy will benefit performance
6. Minimize the total number of individual parts and sub parts
7. Check to see what parts of the 3D models are required in the AR experience and which are not. Only show what is necessary. 3D hierarchical structure will impact your Model/Item creation Restructure assemblies and/or components ideally grouping/welding them all into a single mesh
8. Animated meshes will need to remain separated for the main body mesh, but sub meshes of that animated part are best grouped/welded as a single animated mesh where possible
9. Consider applying all/any modifiers to the model
10. Consider the pivot point of the mesh. If the mesh is to be spawned at the wheels or feet, then the single pivot point should be placed at the bottom of the mesh for example
11. Consider the overall scale of the model. Augmented reality files will show in real world scale. If there is likely to be any confusion around scale, then consider placing a 1m x 1m x 1m cube into the scene named ‘1mScaleCube’, then rescale your original model to match proportions with the new 1m scale cube.
12. Depending on your organization’s policies and AR experience, some details in the 3D model may cause concerns around intellectual property. We recommend removing details from the 3D model.
13. Remove metadata, and protected data as necessary
